Our focus in the Young Children's Community is the 'whole child': focusing on functional independence, language, art, music, movement, and grace and courtesy. The environment is prepared for the young child to be independent, explore and learn amongst a small group of children ages three months to three years.
Children will spend their days participating in activities like watering plants, baking, polishing wood, working on puzzles and other manipulatives to improve fine motor skills, as well as vocabulary enrichment with daily objects and replicas.
Children will begin toilet learning if they have not already at home.
Other activities include exploring a musical instrument, reading books with a friend, or setting the table with napkins, placemats, and flowers for group snacks.
A typical day in a toddler environment includes a 2-hour work cycle, singing songs with musical instruments, outside playtime on the playground, lunch, and rest time.
All our staff hold AMI Montessori diplomas; a certification that requires rigorous training that ensures your child's distinct personality and independence will be nurtured into a capable and connected adult.
